It is difficult not to be drawn in by Japanese culture and customs, which comprises of a unique blend of history, tradition, heritage and sensitivity to the world around them set upon a rapidly modernising backdrop. For us as designers, their traditional clothing is especially captivating. With this collection we’ve drawn our inspiration from the design aesthetic of garments like the kimono, as well as other artistic mediums, and combined it with sumptuous laces and textures to create something that is as special for us as we hope it will be for you. Between Japanese-inspired silhouettes, sleeves, belts and an emphasis on laces featuring intricate beading and delicate blossoms, An Oriental Affair looks to capture femininity and our own classic bridal style with an added Eastern flare – a true marriage of tradition and modernity, just like Japan.
